My professional experience as a mental health practitioner began as a peer-volunteer on a part time basis with Qmuninty. There I used basic skills to assist Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, and Transgendered individuals with their struggles. I did this for several years while attending my studies at Simon Fraser University.

In early 2006 i decided to formalize my training at VCC. I did the basic counselling skills course and felt a strong resonance with the course content. This lead to my volunteering with the Vancouver Crisis Line and Suicide Prevention Center of BC. I assisted 100’s of callers in severe to moderate distress, with a number of varying issues. I was associated with this organization for four years until late 2010.

In the fall of 2007 i continued my professional training in counselling psychology at the Adler School of Professional Psychology (Vancouver Campus). My training included theoretical, process, experiential, group, couples, and research work. I had the privilege of completing a 150 hour community service practicum with Canadian Mental Health Association (Burnaby/ Vancouver Branch) and a 700 hour clinical practicum with Family Services of Greater Vancouver.

The spring and summer of 2010 marked the completion of my Masters in Counselling Psychology and my acceptance to The British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I began my private practice work late 2010/ early 2011. Since beginning in practice I have logged almost 2000 direct client hours. In that time I have helped a number of individuals and couples overcome obstacles to their health and well-being.
